This document lists peripheral hardware we recommend for use with Springbrook Software’s enterprise applications. Springbrook Software does not sell peripheral hardware. If you do not already have a vendor for this type of equipment please contact the manufacturer for a vendor in your area.
Bar Code Scanners
Handheld Model: Symbol LS 2208 General Purpose Scanner
Hands Free Model: Symbol DS 9208 General Purpose Scanner
This type of general purpose bar code scanner can be set up to read a variety of bar codes. The DS 9208 can be used in handheld and hands free configurations.
Receipt Printers
This is also known as a Point of Sale (POS) or Transaction printer. Receipt printers typically come with one of three interface types: serial (RS-232), parallel, or USB. Springbrook Software recommends using a parallel printer-to-PC connection for V6 users and a USB connection for V7 users.
Validating/Endorsing Receipt Printer
Model: Epson TM-H6000V Receipt Printer
Manufacturer: Epson
This type of receipt printer can print receipts, endorse the back of checks with the organization’s bank account information, and validate a license or permit with a message.
Non-validating/Endorsing Receipt Printer
Model: Star Micronics TSP143III Thermal Receipt Printer
Manufacturer: Star Micronics, Inc.
This type of receipt printer only prints receipts. Thermal printers are slower than impact printers but they are also quieter and offer better output quality.
Cash Drawer
Model: APG Series 100 Cash Drawer
Manufacturer: APG Cash Drawer
Interface Cable - Primary: CD-009A* (primary cable for connecting one cash drawer to the printer)
Interface Cable - Secondary: CD-009B* (secondary cable for connecting second cash drawer to the same printer)
*Note: The CD-009A and CD-009B interface cables are the ONLY cables that will interface properly with Springbrook.
