Step by Step
- The Service Group Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Service Group) will display all of the service groups that have been created in the application.
- Highlight a service group and click the Delete button or press DELETE to delete the selected service group.
- A service group cannot be deleted if it includes a service that has been billed in a previous billing cycle.
- Click the Create button to create a new service group.
- Enter a Code for the new service group.
- This field can accommodate up to 20 alphanumeric characters. Once a Code is entered, it cannot be edited.
- Enter a Description for the service group.
- The description can be up to 64 characters long.
- The New Account Grace Period and 50% Threshold Days fields provide more control over proration calculations in the New Billing process:
- For Service Groups with the No Consumption Billing toggle checked:
- If the number of days between Account's Connect Date and Period End Date is <= New Account Grace Period, then skip calculating charges.
- If the number of days between Account's Connect Date and Period End Date is >= New Account Grace Period, then take the 50% Threshold Days/Billing Cycle Days in Period.
If that calculation is != 1 then compare number of days between the Account's Connect Date and Period End Date to 50% Threshold + New Account Grace Period. If under then Percent of Period is 50%. If over then Percent of Period is 100%.
If that calculation = 1 then Percent of Period is 100%.
- For Service Groups with the No Consumption Billing toggle NOT checked:
- If the number of days between Account's Connect Date and Period End Date is <= New Account Grace Period, then check if the Account has any Consumption to be Billed. No Consumption, Percent of Period is 0. Yes Consumption, Percent of Period is 100%.
- If the number of days between Account's Connect Date and Period End Date is >= New Account Grace Period then Percent of Period is 100%.
- For Service Groups with the No Consumption Billing toggle checked:
- Check the No Consumption Billing toggle to exclude the service group from consumption billing.
- This toggle is designed to prevent accidental committing of unbilled consumption billing history records for the services included in the service group.
- Click the Save button when complete.
