Export Collection

 

Summary

 

The Export Collection tool is used to create a collection of export configurations in order to allow organizations to streamline the data export process. By using a collection of export configurations, users can select a single collection during the Export step of a batch process to generate all the required export configurations rather than returning to the Export step multiple times for multiple exports.

 

Step by Step

 

1     View the existing collections. 

 

  • Open the Export Collection Selection window (SS> Maintenance> Export Collection).
  • The Export Collection Selection window displays all of the export collections that have been created in the application.
  • Enter information into the fields in the Search Criteria section and click the Refresh icon to locate a specific export collection.
  • Highlight a collection and click the Delete icon or press DELETE to delete the selected record.
  • Highlight a collection and click the Modify icon or press ENTER to maintain the selected record.
  • Click the Create icon or press INSERT to create a new export collection. This will open the Export Collection Maintenance window.

 

2     Create or modify an export collection. 

 

  • The Export Collection Maintenance window is used to create a new export collection.
  • Enter a Name for the new export collection.
  • Select a Definition from the drop-down list. This will determine where the export collection will be used and what is displayed in the Available Configurations section to the right.
    • Export configurations are created and maintained on the Export Configuration Maintenance window (SS> Maintenance> Export Configuration). Click here for information on Export Configuration Maintenance.
    • Only those export configurations with the Include in Collection toggle marked will be available to add to an export collection.
  • Check the Default toggle to save the new collection as the default export collection.
    • Only one export collection can be marked as Default.
  • Double-click on a definition in the Available Collections section to add it to the Selected Configurations section. Every configuration in the Selected Configurations section will be printed when the export collection is selected on a batch export step.
    • To remove a configuration from the Selected Configurations section, highlight the configuration and click the Delete icon .
  • Click the Save icon to save the export collection.
