Change an Employee Number
Summary
The Change Employee Number process is used to change the employee number of an employee (PR> Maintenance> Employee> Employee Number field). For example, if you would like to change an employee number from 1500 to 2500, you can do this using the Change Employee Number feature as long as the new employee number has not already been assigned to an employee.
When an employee number is changed, the new employee number will update on all employee history records and any outstanding transactions. This means the old employee number will no longer appear on the employee record. You can use a miscellaneous field on the Employee Maintenance window if you would like to keep a record of the old employee number.

Step by Step
1 Open the Change Employee Number window (PR> Utilities> Change Employee Number).
- Enter the old employee number in the Employee Number field or click the Employee Number field search button to select the employee from a list.
- Enter the new employee number in the New Employee Number field. The new employee number cannot already be assigned to an employee.
- Click the Submit button the change the employee number.
