Summary

 

The UB Allocation Billing system provides the tools agencies need to manage water consumption billing during weather events and drought conditions. This topic provides a brief explanation of each element used in the Allocation Billing system. Follow the links for more detailed instruction on setting up each element.

Step by Step

 

1     SS Lot Maintenance 

 

  • SS> Maintenance> Lot
  • The Landscape Size, Occupancy, and Miscellaneous Decimal fields on the Lot Maintenance window (SS> Maintenance> Lot) can be used when calculating allocation billing values.

2     UB Account Maintenance

 

  • The Occupancy Override and Occupancy Override Expiration Date fields on the Account Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Account> Account tab) can be used when making occupancy-based calculations for Allocation Billing.
  • The Allocation Override sub-tab (UB> Maintenance> Account> Account tab) can be used to set up override rules based on Billing Calculation rules.
  • The Combine Lot toggle and Primary Account field on the Account Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Account> Lot tab> Lot sub-tab) can be used to combine the allocated consumption from multiple lots into one primary UB account in order to simplify the billing process.
  • The Banked Consumption and Period 1-12 Amount fields on the Account Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Account> Lot tab> Water Allocation sub-tab) can be used to track consumption credit and period consumption values for Allocation Billing.

3     UB Water Allocation Import

 

  • The UB Water Allocation Import tool (UB> Utilities> Water Allocation Import) is used to import new or updated water allocation values for the Period 1-12 Amount fields discussed above. This tool can also be used to zero out the Banked Consumption value on the included lots.

4     UB Conservation Data Maintenance

 

  • The UB Conservation Data Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Conservation Data) is used to set up conservation data that can be used in water conservation calculations. This screen can be used to update conservation data on a regular basis in order to respond to weather-related changes in conservation initiatives.

5     UB Billing Calculation Maintenance. 

 

  • The UB Billing Calculation Maintenance window (UB> Maintenance> Billing Calculation) is used to create and maintain the allocation billing calculation formulas that will be used alongside consumption calculations to properly bill consumption when conservation measures are in place.
  • This also where banked consumption can be enabled, allowing customers to receive credit when their consumption falls below the amount allocated for the period.

7     UB Allocation Statement Header 

 

  • The Allocation Statement Header window (UB> Utilities> Allocation Statement Header) is used to create and maintain the field and field labels displayed in the Account Information section of the allocation billing statement. This allows agencies to improve transparency by providing information on how bills are calculated using Allocation Billing calculations.

  • The Target Allocation Statement report (UB> Reports - Allocation Billing> Target Allocation Statement) allows agencies to provide the account holder with an allowed usage statement for the upcoming year based on prior usage values and a target allocation percentage.
